Norway and Iceland remain on Russia’s food embargo list

Russia has extended its food embargo on countries that have imposed sanctions against it until the end of 2026.

The resolution adopted by the Russian government also revealed an expansion of the embargo list to include New Zealand.

Previously, the embargo signified a ban on importing products into Russia from the United States, the European Union, Canada, Britain, Australia, Norway, Ukraine, Albania, Montenegro, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

Banned products include meat, sausages, fish, seafood, dairy products, vegetables, fruits, and other items.

Initially introduced in 2014, the embargo was most recently extended in September 2023 to remain in effect until the end of 2024.
