NORDIC WAVE – Demonstrators gathered in front of the American embassy in Copenhagen on Sunday waving Greenlandic flags and singing traditional Greenlandic songs.
The protest, organized under the slogan “Hands off Kalaallit Nunaat” (translated as “Hands off Greenland”), aimed to support Greenlanders resisting perceived pressure from the U.S. government.
Aviaja Lumholt, half-Greenlandic and the event’s emcee, delivered an opening speech praising the strength of Greenlandic politicians in opposing U.S. governmental actions.
“We support the Greenlanders’ fight against the American government,” Lumholt said, emphasizing solidarity in resisting any attempts to undermine Greenland’s sovereignty.
The protest highlighted calls to preserve Greenlandic autonomy amidst international tensions.
